Rubber Bands. What can I say? They are really stretchy, and unlike other, lesser rubber bands, they don't tend to snap as fast, and create painful welts on my fingers.While most people don't find many used for rubber bands during the course of a day, I, on the other hand, do. I own a bookstore, and on a daily basis, I process books that were reserved or ordered for my customers. Each one of these books gets the customer's name attached to the spine with a post-it-note and gets a rubber band wrapped around it to keep the note in place.Over the past twelve years I have used thousands of rubber bands, and have been snapped on the knuckles far too many times by rubber bands that broke the moment I put any pressure on them. Wrapping them around a hard bound book puts a lot of strain on the rubber.A few years ago I picked up a bag of the size 64 Staples Economy Rubber Bands, and I will not buy any other kind. Why? Because they don't stretch out as fast as other brands, and they rarely break. No breaking means no welts, and no welts is a very good thing.
