It offers seven 1 inch diameter weight post designed originally for 1"; diameter hole standard weight plates. Many lifters prefer the smaller diameter posts for use with Olympic plates that have a 2 inch diameter hole. This makes one-handed loading and unloading easier for experienced lifters.
