Description
PLAYAPUP DOG BELLY BANDSPlayaPup belly bands offer two great benefits:1) Simply put on the belly band to house train dogs, especially great for puppies and newly adopted dogs. Works great for dogs who like to dribble and mark around the house. When the dog is wearing it, belly wrap trains male dogs not to pee in the house or when going out.2) Belly bands also provide temporary aid to dogs with incontinence problems, especially great for older male dogs.Belly wraps are not intended to absorb pee, but to inhibit peeing. For urine absorption, just add a panty liner or tissue. Unlike other cotton/denim belly bands, our dog belly bands can stretch and wrap around the dog's girth easily without harming the dog's coat. Fashionable belly bands come in print and solid fabrics. ABOUT PLAYAPUPPlayaPup designs innovative, fun, and colorful products for pets with protection always in mind. This definitely HELPS but it doesn't solve the problem for us. I just rescued a 6 year old puppy mill parent. He was very shy and would literally poop and pee right next to his food. Thankfully because I have another dog he's learned this is not acceptable and does poop on the wee wee pad but I've had very little success getting him to pee there. I do let him out in the backyard as often as a can but I would still find puddles around the house. He would once every few times get it right and praising him does no good, he's not used to getting treats or hugs so I don't think it registers to him as a reward. So I've pretty much resorted to keeping the belly band on him most of the time especially when I'm out for the day. I know he's just marking his territory and not just needing to pee because these puddles are very very small. Both my dog and this dog that I babysit from time to time do not do this so I was hoping he would stop but he hasn't, he is 6 years old and it can be hard to change with a dog thats been abused for this long so I've accepted that I might have to deal with this for the rest of his life. He is a very small shih tzu, 11lbs, and the small fits perfect. I noticed it is about finding the right pads because some of the ones I've tried will only catch some of it and most of it will still get on the floor. I buy regular poise pads or knock off brands and put them on. The dog does not seem to mind. I am taking off a star because I do wish the belly band was a little wider, because it tends to ride down their bodies and hit their back leg and then it'll fold back there so that might also be why pee still comes out. I would definitely recommend though because as I said at least is helps. Bought 2 so I could interchange them. Hope this helped! We walk our yorkies, they have a dogie door and an indoor "pee pad" system but I still find I need belly bands. They are great for hurricane prep when our dogs can not relieve themselves outside. They are especially helpful to prevent marking when my females are in heat. I also use them for my "little ole man", Bentley, that is 16 and can not get out the doggie door and forgets to use the "potty pad" back-up. I cut up a sanitary napkin, and insert half of in the band. The band does not have a place to hold it but if you just use the slightly adhesive on the pad, it stays in place. (use pads for med or light thickness) The belly bands can be used to deter marking, incontinence, hurrican prep and accident prevention. The smooth and flexible material is great. Velcro can be scary to a little dog but on these pads, the velcro works without a hitch. My yorkies have very long luxurious hair and these belly bands never cause matting or tangles. In my opinion, the flexible band is superior to any elastic band out there. Make sure you order the correct size because the width of the belly band relates to the circumference. They are perfect for yorkies and small dogs with similar builds. Special note: do not underestimate the determination of a male dog when a female is in heat. These bands are not enough to prevent them from mating, however... I buy preemie and newborn onsies from Walmart for about $3 and they have snaps at the crotch then I put a female diaper pant over the onesie and her halter over the onesie to prevent disloging of the females protection system. I find for yorkies, the preemie size fits best for 3 to 5 lbs and the newborn for 5 to 10 lbs. You can place a preemie diaper on your female yorkie under the preemie onesie if she is still in the bleeding phase. This system works if you really want to prevent mating and I make sure my males are wearing their belly bands too. Good Luck. This is a lifesaver. I tried a competitor's brand and my dog freaked out and wriggled right out of it. I think the shirred elastic banding and the bulkiness was uncomfortable. I was going to give up on the idea and decided to try out the PlayaPup brand. I'm dealing with a persistent male "marker" who is 10 months old and gets taken outside every few hours to relieve himself. I can only address the PlayaPup belly band uses as an aid to prevent constant marking of my couch and my other dog's favorite resting spots not the problem of incontinence. My dog is a pug and the medium size is a perfect fit. The band fits snug, but not too tight and it doesn't restrict him in anyway (except marking, of course!). He is surprisingly cooperative when I put the band on him which, with him being a frustratingly stubborn, bossy and frenetic little guy, is quite treat for me. ( I make sure to include his favorite "rubbies" and tell him how extremely handsome he is when I "dress" him in his band.) I do give him periodic time-outs in his pen (I keep a small crate within a larger inside to contain him, yet give him some options) and I take off the band when he's contained to the pen to give him a break from wearing the band as he never seems to mark or mess up his pen area.I've ordered a few more PlayaPup bands, since since my pup does dribble a tiny bit when it's on and the band collects a bit of dander and fur. Its easy to wash and dries pretty quickly, but a few "back-ups" would be helpful. I'm so happy I'll finally be able to take all the protective padding off my furniture!!läßt nichts durch.
